a rose is a rose is a rose

I'm involved in a "Receiver's Choice" block exchange with 9 members of my Sparkly Chickens Yahoo Group. At the end of 10 months, we will all have enough original blocks to make a very personal quilt. I chose a botanical theme in natures colours. This is my talented friend Candy's interpretation for the month of January. Raw edge machine applique with a lot of free motion stitching. Isn't it lovely? It arrived well before Valentine's Day, but I still think that it's something very special!! I love it!!!

AM, I hadn't seen this....thanks for the heads up. it's really lovely! FME? wow. Sparkly Chickens Yahoo Group! ? what a great name!

I'm working on a painting of a bouquet of roses, on the watercolorworkshop yahoo group...it's an all paint from one painting project for Feb. I have the sketch, understand it and the shadows, I think, but not to translate it into paint! wish me luck...

Everyone, I thank you and Candy thanks you too!!!! This is just the start as I'll have one block a month coming for 8 months from different participants and one more from me to make 10. I think that I'll wait until the end to produce my block as then I'll have enough for a lovely botanical quilt.
