what if?

I started a new series in 2014? What if I focused on recycled materials? What if it's all about making do? What if I used some of the swapped paper and old calendars that I've been hoarding? What if I used fabric, thread, yarn and lace? What if I used beads and embellishments? What if I include natural elements? What about paint? What if I didn't impose any limits? What if it's all about trying different techniques? What if it's all about the photos? What if it's about making components? What if I'm just scratching the surface? What if I have no idea how often I'll post? What if I dreamed this up when I woke up this morning? What if it's just plain fun?
What if it's woven calendar pages from a prior year(thanks to an annual calendar exchange with Kaite in Australia). What if I have no idea what to do with these pages? What I frame them, stitch them, paint them, cut them up for backgrounds, line a tray, or make cards or coasters out of them? What if I put them in the component box? What if I make a what if box? What if I encourage all of you to play along with me? What if you link back to me so that I can see what you're up to? What if I'm finished with my what if's for today?

Wow...your poor brain is in overdrive this morning! That's a lot of "what ifs?". I'm sure the finished pieces will be phenomenal.

what if we just stand around and watch you get carried away? :)
Seriously, any of those ideas would be a year's worth of work. My big plan for January has been cancelled. The weaving workshop won't happen, so I'll be what-iffing on that warp.

I love your paper weaving! The creative recycled projects sound fantastic, I have been thinking about how to use loads of bits and bobs from Christmas that normally I would throw away, so I will be following carefully to see where you go with your ideas!

I'm think'in that you need to trade in some of the "what IF's" for some "How about this?" or "Maybe some of that" or.... or maybe make it a numbers game... give each 'what if' a number and pull 3 out of the hat... and only use those???? Because I don't know how you'd finally stop.... otherwise!

What if I'm a little manic about all the possibilities? You guys are too funny! I guess that I'm excited about the future and would love to use up some of my stash.

Sara, it's not really about finishing, just about starting. The finishing would be a bonus.

Diane, no standing around allowed!! I know that you'll be busy with your woven cloth, but knowing you, you'll always find time to squeek out a little time for other techniques. LOL!

Paper rainbow, that's the beauty of this series, even I have no idea where it will go. I live for my techniques and only hope that I can inspire a few others along the way.

Beth, I have no intention of stopping! That's the beauty of this series, I have all the supplies I could ever need and there's no danger of ever running out of ideas!

What if you and i both don't buy another craft item/material at all this year but instead repurpose everything that we already have on hand. Sounds good to me.
I've started already by knitting another blanket with the stash and not buying any yarn at all for it.

Anne Marie...you know I love you and am in awe of your considerable and varied talents BUT the "starting but not finishing" is just beyond my Sheldon-like (Big Bang Theory) personality! I work on one project at a time, start to finish. If it doesn't work, it gets tossed/taken apart/disposed of in some way. I just can't help it...

Kaite, I'll try for personal projects, but will need to pick up a few more materials for my classes. Then, of course, there's always the need for interesting beads and books .

Sara, perhaps the BJP will help you to loosen up. LOL! Of course, there's nothing wrong with either way of working.

Thanks Rajiv and MA!

MA, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the individual pieces, , but it is a lot of fun!
