Little Leo returns

Little Leo is a wonderful little plant that I was gifted with years ago, by my sister, Suzie's sister-in-law, Diane (from Sault Ste Marie, ON). I turned around and re-gifted him to Marilyn and so he still grows!! Every year, Little Leo is one of the first hot colours to bloom in the garden.....and every year he struts his stuff proudly. This is a very tidy plant and oh so true to it's name. It flowers for a long time, yet stays small and compact in a nice neat clump. When the flowers are finished, he disappears back into the soil. After basking in the son, Leo rests to wait for yet another spring!

Lovely! I am not sure I have seen this flower before. Little Leo huh? Sweet, does it make viable seeds? I'm a little Leo myself.

Jan, I believe that Leopard's Bane is the more common name. I think that it does produce seeds, but I Marilyn probably leaves them for the birds. You might be able to find a mail order supplier though. I'm a Leo as well, but little has never been part of my name. LOL!

I just planted some Little Leo's yesterday in a new planter I had built by the studio. I'm so happy to hear how well behaved they are and how lovely the flowers are! I just bought the plants for the foliage color. Serendipity at work here!

I'm so happy to share their bright faces with you. I just visited them again today and they're getting ready for their summer rest. Just a few flowers left, but I was impressed that they were still blooming. They will look absolutely lovely in your planter. Of course, you know how much I love serendipity!!
