bjp 2012 - 1st 6 months

Not much to say, but I thought you might like to see the first six months of my numbered row houses.  Now all I need to do is figure out how to make them larger.  I think that they look pretty nice together, don't you?

I've been sun printing and painting fabric with textile paints this weekend.  No photos yet, but I'll try to take some to post later in the week.  I even painted one of my eye glass cleaner papers (wipes).  You know, those ones in the tidy little package that contain a large amount of acohol.  I purchased mine from Walmart!  BTW I rarely shop at Walmart, but my sister introduced me to these wipes and they're just the perfect thing for greasy glasses.  BTW, the paper took the paint very well and the paper is really very strong.  I may need to do more of this.  What I'm going to use it for, I have no idea, but it's nice to know that they have a second, useful purpose.

BEAUTiful!

Truly gorgeous, there's something about repeats that takes them to a higher level. For some reason i'd like them not abutting edge to edge but with a small neutral divider, only narrow but plain, like a piece of velvet or leather.

Anne Marie, I LOVE THEM!!! If you could guarantee that I'd have enough room inside to set up an awesome studio I'd start packing and getting ready to move right away! What an incredible neighborhood they make. I haven't even started my June piece yet (procrastinating so badly this month that its turned into next month already LOL).

The row houses make a wonderful display when exhibited together. This is such a fantastic idea. Variations on a theme. I don't go out of my way to repurpose things, but the eyeglass wipes sound interesting. I have some alcohol inks.

Gorgeous, all in a row. They need to be displayed together I think.

Thanks, so much, everyone! I do have some display ideas, but nobody has hit them on the head yet. A lot is going to depend on what I decide to do with them. Will they be in a gallery show? Will they be in an art show? Will I sell them or keep them to myself? Many questions to be answered, but I seriously doubt that they'll be sold as they're far too personal. It might be interesting to frame them individually in shadowboxes and then display them, gallery style, on my living room wall (or in a gallery show, but then they'd need to be on sale, I think). My friend Diane, has even suggested that the 2012 project might be appropriate for publishing. So many ideas, so little time.....

Kaite, chances are they wouldn't be quite so close together (I needed that for the photo) and Linda, they're available for rent. LOL! I wonder what little teeny studio rent is going for these days? Beth, you actually hit one of the ideas with the wall display and Judy, I haven't actually tried alcohol inks on the glass wipes. I used fabric paints! MA & Liniecat diplay options still to be decided, but thanks for your encouragement and input!!!

Karen, come on up!!! Perhaps I should include a "For Rent" sign on July. LOL!

Wendy, what a lovely, fanciful idea! I hadn't thought about beach huts, because of course, we don't have those here. A long canvas has been one of the options, I just didn't think of sea, sand and sky!!
