March 2010 BJP AMD - Part 1

Are you ever tempted to work outside your personal comfort zone? A couple of years ago I spotted a series of ochre & grape paintings by a local Ontario artist. Entranced by the mood of these pieces,I attempted to recreate that feeling in cloth. Needless to say,the experiment failed miserably. Well, guess what? I took the crayons back out of the box and applied them to my March BJP.

Not what I had originally intended, but moody it is!

Great recovery with those crayons, AMD! They really did the trick! I love that carved button, it's a real treasure!

Thanks, Magpie! The carved button is actually an old brooch. It just happened to be hiding in the button jar, waiting to be found. Of course, Magpie's know all about the art of collecting. Don't they?

So glad you pulled the crayons back out and tried it again, this piece is lovely!
It kind of reminds of the start of one of those really neat lightening and thunder storms just before dusk... maybe over a beach or really cool looking field.

It's funny! People like all three of the pieces I've done so far, but this is the one that seems to stroke their imaginations. I had no idea!
